It all started during the Summer of 2007 when a woman from Málaga and her husband traveled to Italy on a holiday.
One day, on a subway stop, they saw how a group of volunteers were handing out sandwiches and hot coffee to people who needed them.
This idea traveled with them to Málaga, and together with some friends the started preparing in their homes sandwiches and beverages to hand them out to people who slept under bridges, on beaches or on the street.
This humanitarian work was done in precarious conditions, but even then, people kept on helping and our volunteers and donations kept on growing.
On December 13th 2007 this organization became official and the Founding Act was signed, giving it the name it now has: Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche (Málaga’s Angels of the Night).
During some time, sandwiches and hot coffee were prepared on the volunteer’s homes, until one day we got a stand where we could prepare and hand out meals on a more dignified way. This stand was built in Pasillo de Santa Isabel, close to Puente de los Alemanes, and it has remained there until the opening of our new meal center.
During all that time, meals were handed out in our stand. This meant that everyone had to wait in long lines outside, in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy…).
That’s why we worked very hard to build a meal center. This way, people in need can have a decent place to eat.
In November 10th, 2015, the construction permit for our meal center was granted, and on May 14th, 2016, the Opening Ceremony takes place.
Finally, thanks to the efforts and contributions of a lot of people, we have a decent place to attend those in need.
Every chapter we write of our history is only possible thanks to your help.
Thanks to all of you who have helped us maintain our humanitarian work!!
