Our work

“Our daily work is centered at our soup kitchen located at 2 Fuentecillas Street, a space designed to provide comprehensive care to our users. Our facilities, open from Monday to Saturday mornings, consist of:
An industrial kitchen: Fully equipped with the necessary resources for the daily preparation of nutritious meals tailored to our users’ needs.

A spacious dining room: With a capacity for approximately 90 people, offering a warm and welcoming environment where they can enjoy their meals together, share experiences, and foster social connection.
We strive to create a safe and dignified space where people can access proper nutrition and feel supported, thereby contributing to their well-being and promoting social inclusion.”

Every morning, our logistics manager supervises the collection of donated food. Our vans travel throughout the city and, occasionally, the province, visiting the companies that generously collaborate with us.

Simultaneously, at the dining hall, breakfast preparations begin. Depending on current stock, hot coffee or chocolate is made, and around 100 sandwiches are prepared. These are served alongside pastries, cookies, and other baked goods kindly donated by local bakeries. With all of this, we provide a nutritious and comforting breakfast for the homeless individuals who come to our center for their first meal of the day.

After breakfast, volunteers take charge of cleaning the dining hall and preparing approximately 200 sandwiches for dinner. Daily menu planning begins early, aiming to offer a complete and balanced meal. This menu consists of a first course, a second course of meat or fish served with patatas a lo pobre (sautéed potatoes) or rice, a salad, and a dessert, which is typically fruit salad or seasonal fruit.

Mindful of the diversity of our guests, we always offer two menu options: one that may contain pork and another completely free of it, respecting the religious dietary restrictions of some diners.
Once preparation is finished, we serve the food on metal trays with plastic cutlery and cups. Additionally, we assist those who cannot come to the dining hall—such as minors or elderly people with reduced mobility—by allowing them to take their meals in containers to eat at home.

Menú diario

At the end of lunch, each guest can collect their dinner, consisting of a sandwich and a yogurt or a piece of fruit, depending on daily availability.
All the aforementioned food is distributed to those in the queues formed for this purpose at our facilities from 9:30 to 10:30 and 12:30 to 13:30, Monday through Saturday. All operations conclude with the cleaning of both the interior and exterior of our premises.
Once a week, we carry out a major food distribution for families in need, especially those with young children. We prepare personalized bags, ensuring that each family receives the specific nutritional support they require.
